Freedom Pro Artist Pad Extreme Vice (Animal) Eyeshadow palette

I’ve expressed my feelings of apathy towards Freedom/Makeup Revolution/whatever brands in just about every review of their products, though they have some decent ones (like their blush palette). I didn’t have much hope for this either, since palettes with a lot of colours almost always perform very average, plus this one comes in the most tacky packaging ever, but I’ll admit that it is better than most of its sisters, at least partly. Pro Artist Pad Extreme Vice (Animal) Eyeshadow palette contains 48 eyeshadows which are a mix of neutrals and brights. These are, as always at such palettes, a mix of quality that ranges from bad to actually really ...

New in #54

MAKEUP MAYBELLINE Master Precise Eyeliner  110 Black For the last couple of months was trying to get my Clio liner to start working properly, but I gave up in the end, ordering this one because it’s very affordable online and it’s been pinned on my Pinterest wishlist for ages waiting for its turn. It’s a classic liquid pen eyeliner with a felt tip applicator that’s very similar to L’Oreal’s Perfect Slim. Now that it’s new, the formula is very fluid and black. I can be precise with it, though when drawing the main line, the top edge could be a bit smoother. Flicks can be drawn with it, but I’m ...

Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick Ravishing Rose

I’m all about matte lip colours, though preferably in liquid lipstick form, but I’m not picky. Avon’s Matte lipsticks gained a lot of praise last year, so they ended up on my list to try and Petra being the great person she is, gifted me the shade I liked most for Christmas. The moment these touched my lips I realised the formula is incredibly similar to Milani’s Matte which are some of my favourites. The colour range is pretty bright, so I’m missing more natural and medium rosy shades, but this shade Ravishing Rose is a dupe for Mac’s All Fired up lipstick. Texture: This has basically the same formula as ...

Empties #25 including K-Beauty skin care samples

MAKEUP  BOURJOIS Healthy Mix Serum I often say that this a foundation that I can rely on. It’s one of rare ones that looks very natural on the skin (coverage is light-medium), it doesn’t look weird over pores, doesn’t feel heavy and it works no matter in what weird mood my skin is. The shade is a bit too dark and yellow for me, that’s it’s only minus, but it has so many other pluses that I always keep a bottle in my collection.  Repurchase: Already done. SKIN CARE  TRILOGY Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm This was pretty decent. It wasn’t as luxurious feeling as Emma Hardie’s or as good ...

Decluttering my Collection

About once a year I go through my collection and do a bit of a purge because even though it might not seem that way, I don’t enjoy having quite such a large collection as some Youtubers boast on their channels. It’s not that there anything wrong with those, but I like to go to the drugstore and still be excited about makeup because there’s still shades and products that I don’t own. I usually include these declutterings in my empties posts, but since this one was considerably more extensive than any time before, I made it into a proper post. How knows, maybe someone is interested in it, though ...

20 Mac lipstick swatched plus their dupes

My collection of Mac shades is very atypical. For one I only have three proper Mac lipsticks that are in the regular lines, plus I have one shade left from the Viva Glam range – Lady Gaga’s version from several years ago, so I didn’t include it here. The rest are all samples that I got from The Body Needs which unfortunately doesn’t exist anymore. I have 19 of those, but two shades are already discontinued, so I excluded those, but they have been swatched before as have all of Mac lipsticks in my collection. I’ve been planning to reswatch them for a while, not just because I have a ...

Creamy Chickpea Flour Peanut Butter Maple Fudge

It seems each time a try a different approach to vegan-friendly fudge, I declare that a new favorite has been born. I used to think dairy was pretty essential to a rich and decadent fudge, but I’ve since discovered otherwise. In fact, this chickpea flour fudge is reminiscent of maple fudge — the richness comes from the addition of coconut butter and oil and the maple syrup. However, it’s nearly guilt-free, because everything in there is good for you and more forgiving to your waistline. You really only need a small piece to satisfy that craving for the richness that sometimes only a piece of fudge will satisfy. Creamy Chickpea ...

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops Lightening

As much as paleness is promoted to be embraced, there is one little hitch when it comes to deciding to stay pale and not invest the time in either sunbathing or self-tanning – there are only a handful of foundation shades on the market that are actually very light. The companies themselves are almost completely ignoring us pale ladies, so I can only thank some higher force that The Body Shop not only created a product that lightens any foundation formula, but also doesn’t make the foundation suck by altering the texture. For years I had to mix my crappy pale foundations (most I own have a lame formula) with ...

BeYu Color Biggie 410 Dusty Rose

Most of the lip products I have from BeYu are described matte, but none impressed me as this one and that’s because it actually is their only properly matte product. I have several such jumbo lip pencils and these are my favourites because they do everything I want: they have an excellent matte finish, great pigmentation and good lasting power. There are several shades available, I got one of the shades that I instantly liked, but there are a few that peaked my interest too. Non matte version of such pencils exists as well. Texture: This is what I wanted Essence’s Velvet Sticks to be. Pigmentation is excellent and the ...

Catrice Lip Dresser Shine Stylo

Cosmetic companies sure love to reinvent the most basic products in a million ways. I didn’t even notice this among the new Catrice lip products, as anything with shine in the name I usually just skip, but this Lip Dresser lipstick is basically Catrice’s Supreme Fusion lipstick (which I again didn’t even notice got discontinued. I’m already bored with constant changes), except this time it’s in a less convenient packaging, but the product is still good. Texture: This is classic semi-opaque lip colour with a glossy finish. It’s really absolutely nothing new or exciting, it’s just a lipstick for those who have dry lips and aren’t afraid of potential smudging. ...
